What this office and Dr. Karas had put together for the patients is truly remarkable. Yo stay in contact with the patients, via emails, texts and Ben after the surgery is complete is awesome. I haven’t felt any insecurities, I knew they were an arms reach away and still are. Every face has a smile!! *

I really hate writing this review but I have to do it. I had my left knee replaced in July of 2021. Since the day of my surgery I had pain everyday in that left knee. Every time I went back to see Dr. Karas I told him about the pain. I was told to do more physical therapy and get in touch with the pain management doctor. I did as I was told and still could not get rid of the pain. Each time I went to see Dr. Karas he had an x-ray taken of my knee and each time he told me it was perfect. After 3 years of constant pain in that left knee, I thought that perhaps I was one of those people that would never get rid of pain after my knee surgery. And Dr. Care 's obviously couldn't find anything wrong with me. I finally went to another orthopedic surgeon at Northwestern who found the problem in 20 minutes. He looked at the x-rays from Midwest orthopedic, he took x-rays himself and he looked at all the records. Records. The knee cap was not placed on the knee. The knee cap was sticking up and on a slant which was causing irritation and inflammation to that area, hence the constant pain. The doctor at Northwestern even showed me the x-rays that were taken at Midwest orthopedic. And on all the x-rays that were taken at Midwest orthopedic, that abnormality appeared. Radiologist. But I could see it very clearly. So not was the knee cap not put in place but the obvious glaring error was missed at least three times on the x-rays that were taken at Midwest orthopedic. My only options were to have the nerves blocked in that left knee or have the knee replaced again, basically starting from scratch. Not work. So at the end of this month I will be having my knee replaced for the second time. I feel that my life has been on hold for 3 years because with constant pain I didn't feel like doing anything. I just sat around my apartment. There were a few social activities in my life but most of my activities were seeing doctors or physical therapists. I am 77 years old and I'm starting over having my left knee replaced again. My right knee also needs to be replaced so after 3 years I still have pain and both knees. In my humble opinion, this is negligence*

Very easy checkin, very busy but still kept everything flowing. With in one hour I was X-ray seen by an assistant and then by my Doctor. Doctor gave me options for my treatment so will consider all options. *

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Karas for 2 years. I am being treated for bilateral osteoarthritis & both of my knees are bone on bone. Steroid injections have been helpful until recently, and I finally decided to discuss having knee replacement surgery. Even though my knees were bad enough to proceed with surgery in 2022, Dr. Karas always told me that I would know when the time was right to proceed. He & his PA, McKenzie, went above & beyond answering all of my many questions. They are both very thorough, knowledgeable, reassuring, & caring…spending more time with me than I expected. I believe Dr. Karas genuinely cares about his patients, & puts their needs/treatment first. He is not your typical surgeon. Not once in the past 2 years did he ever make me feel that surgery was imminent or that I needed to make a surgical decision sooner than later. Would definitely highly recommend Dr. Karas & his team.*

I found Dr. Karas to be a doctor who listens to patients’ concerns. When my orthopedic doctor said my fourth left hip replacement was too complicated, I was sent to Rush and Dr. Karas. He was able to perform a surgery such that I may be able to walk again.*

I went in to see Dr Karas today in hopes that he would tell me that despite the complex nature of my knee, that there is a way forward. He did exactly that; said I needed complex reconstruction surgery on my knee and that a new doctor coming to the Rush practice from the Mayo Clinic was the surgeon l need to perform my procedure. Already was set up with appt for see Dr Terhune for a consult. I felt cared for which is all I ask from my doctors. Thanks *
